7 Ways To Slow Down Your Life

Sharing is caring!

When you want to begin living a more frugal life, you need to take your foot off the gas. If you’re constantly on-the-go and always completing tasks, it’s hard to take it slow.

If you put your obsession with being productive aside, you will free up space in your life to save money. Seven ways to slow down and get in touch with yourself, your family, and your friends.

1. Turn Off Technology

This may sound obvious but we are so attached to our phones, tablets, laptops etc…that we don’t even realize how much time we spend using them.

7 Ways To Slow Down Your Life

It is important to turn them off once in awhile so that you can enjoy other things such as spending time with family or friends or taking a walk outside.

2. Spend Less Time at Work

Many people think they have to work long hours just because their boss does or because everyone else does.

However, if you really look at what you do during those extra hours of work and whether or not it is necessary then you will see that there are many things that could be cut out of your schedule.

3. Stop Going Out to Eat All of the Time

Going out to eat all of the time is expensive! Even if you go to a fast food restaurant and order a $5 meal, that adds up over time.

Instead, cook meals at home and invite your friends over.

4. Don’t Buy New Clothes

Just like eating out all of the time, buying new clothes when you already have perfectly good ones takes away from saving money.

5. Buy Used Items Instead of New Ones

Buying used items can save you hundreds or thousands of dollars depending on what it is that you are buying. There are plenty of websites where you can find great deals on almost anything including furniture, cars, appliances, electronics and more. E-bay is a good example.

6. Reduce Your Utilities

There are plenty of ways to reduce your utility bills each month. One way is by turning off lights and unplugging electronic devices when they aren’t in use. Another way is by installing solar panels on your house.

7. Get Rid of Cable TV

Cable TV costs anywhere from $50-$100 per month depending on which package you choose.

Most people don’t watch everything that comes with these packages anyway so why pay for something you won’t use?

Cut out cable TV and switch to Netflix or Hulu instead.
